Hello!

I had my virtual OPENSTEP 4.2 humming happily at 1920x1080 with VMware Fusion.

Some time passed, updates went (such as OS X Mavericks and the current VMware Fusion 6.02), and now, when I enter my OPENSTEP machine, I found with dismay that it only displays a blue color in the upper half, and a black color in the lower half :-(

It seems to happen with all resolutions, except 1024x768. However, it is very ugly to use a 40" 1080P LCD with a 1024x768 resolution!

Does anyone found the same issue? if so, is there a way to solve it?

Try going to settings/compatibility for the virtual machine. Then set compatibility with the last version that worked for you.

Nope, it didn't work :-(

I just tried virtual hardware 10, 9, 8 ,7, and 6 and the same thing happened: a blue screen in the first horizontal half, a black screen in the second horizontal half...

Fixed!

Following the advice in http://www.nextcomputers.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3321, I changed my virtual machine from "Other" to "MS-DOS" AND setting the compatibility hardware to version 6. That did the trick.
