The core is available on MiSTer and is Open Source https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=4421

I have a MiSTer and mostly use it for Arcade/Console games but it also has a rich community for computer cores, which I believe is where the original parent project MiST started with Amiga and Atari ST computers.

This might dovetail nicely with the Checkmate monitor, since it is going to have a MiSTer module.

Potentially it could be a very cheap and accessible way to run NEXTSTEP.
