I have two NeXTStation monos that I want to re-image, but I don't have any disks. I've found .floppyimage files and .iso images for NeXTStep 3.3, but I get errors in disk utility when I try to mount them. Any suggestions on a reliable way to get these files on to actual floppies or CD's so I can re-image these machines?

I have a Mac from pretty much every era running all OSes from the original Mac OS all the way up to Yosemite, but no PC's to do any imaging.

Mac OS X doesn't understand the NeXTSTEP UFS formatting, which is what these images have, so you shouldn't be able mount them on  a Mac. Even so, you should be able to copy them using dd on the command line, or perhaps diskutil, but I don't have the exact command at hand.

I recently had to recover some UFS disks from tape images.  I do not know how NeXTStep UFS differs from UNIX proper, but here's a way to do it:
