I have two NeXTStation monos that I want to re-image, but I don't have any disks. I've found .floppyimage files and .iso images for NeXTStep 3.3, but I get errors in disk utility when I try to mount them. Any suggestions on a reliable way to get these files on to actual floppies or CD's so I can re-image these machines?
I have a Mac from pretty much every era running all OSes from the original Mac OS all the way up to Yosemite, but no PC's to do any imaging.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Mac OS X doesn't understand the NeXTSTEP UFS formatting, which is what these images have, so you shouldn't be able mount them on a Mac. Even so, you should be able to copy them using dd on the command line, or perhaps diskutil, but I don't have the exact command at hand.
