Hello, after some years, I restart my MonoStation, but i can't read any cdrom from the caddy (new or original). Here's the logs.
At the boot time:
Quotemach: SONY CD-ROM CDU-541 Rev 2.6a as sd1 at sc0 target 5 lun 0
mach: sd1: UNIT ATTENTION
Trying to access cdrom:
Quotemach: sd1 (5,0): scsi_timer: timeout op:0x0 sd_state:7 scsi status:0x0
mach: Target 5: BUSY; retry 1
mach: Target 5: BUSY; retry 2
mach: Target 5: BUSY; retry ...
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Michele
Sony's early CD drives are starting to have issues with the surface mount capacitors within. I've found that replacing them brings the drives back.

I can almost 100% guarantee that is the issue here. I've fixed 4 drives with this exact same symptom. Guide here:
