I recently acquired a NeXTStation mono. It appears to be the somewhat uncommon "25 MHz Turbo" since it has a 25 MHz XC68040 but uses 72 pin SIMMs and an N4000B monitor with ADB keyboard/mouse. Someone has replaced the fan with one that can't be screwed in properly and attempted to screw through the bottom (hopefully not ruining the threads), so I'm wondering two things:
What direction should the fan be blowing in? Is it supposed to blow air out of the machine or up into the machine?
What type of fan (Height, current consumption, RPMs, CFMs, etc.) originally went in here?

I have NeXT station fans with screws for $5 shipping $7 . I'll check direction when I get back home.
I replaced two fans of a NeXTstation mono turbo and a color. They were this type:

Rating: 12V, 0,21 A
Dimensions: 80x80x25 mm
I replaced them with a modern fan, an ARCTIC F8 TC (ca. 6 Euros).
Yeah, the fan that's in here is a modern fan but it's the type with the actual fan on rubber mounts above a bracket, set up in such a way that it's impossible to get the mounting screws in. Those Nidec fans did tend to be noisy, I think I've seen some NeXTStations before with a Sanyo Denki fan that was a fair bit quieter.
The Arctic fan I use has the tradidtional screw holes. I could use the existing NeXTstation's screws and it would fit perfectly.
