All,

If anyone is interested, I documented capacitor replacement for an original cube maxtor driver here:

I probably caught this just in time in this case as about 30% were out of spec and there was visible leakage.

FYI: I did another drive which was really loud. I assumed the bearings were going bad, but after a cap replacement it sounds healthy again. This was a second revision which had some additional 10uF caps soldered to the surface mount side.
