...i have three MO from NeXTstep 2.0, all in a good shape, but formatted and written with other stuff und unfortunatly untouched one.
As far as i can remember someone have backed up all NeXTstep versions, but i don't remember the place.
How can i write back some content on a working NS 3.3 cube to get a original NS 2.0 OD back?

download the system images:

https://winworldpc.com/product/nextstep/

you first would have to restore the image to a harddrive, run the cube from it and afterwards use BuildDisk to write the OS to the optical disk.

regards,
michael

that's what I wanted to avoid. isn't there any a command to the image restore, like dd if=image.img of=/dev/roda bs=something?

this won't work because it's a 2.0 GB image of a harddrive. I'm afraid that you'll have to go the route I described...

In the absence of a dd image, there's a NS2.0 dump file here (http://ftp.vim.org/comp/next/SoftwareVault/Untested/) you can try.
