I just purchased a "new" OD on eBay. :D

I guess I should replace the capacitors before trying to get it to work, right?
What media works with the OD?

I assume so. I had three unopend new drives and none of them works. Maybe the lenses have also to be cleaned

Leaking capacitors is almost a 100% certainty. Your chances of revival go down substantially from the first time you apply power.

Because the dead caps lead to damage of other parts, right?

I found the MO Service Guide that has been created on the basis of the forum efforts (big thumbs up for that). The one I have is from Nov 2013. I guess the updates can be found in the corresponding forum thread.

I wouldn't buy these, its only to examine the proper MO-type for you.
I would also not use the MO for daily work in the cube, i use mine only for examining old MOs - for digging out the content.

Found dout that the OD I puchased as "new" on eBay was already in use. It is quite dusty inside. :-(

I guess my chances of reviving it are substantially lower than I thought. Who knows when it was last used.

Any advice?
