I have recovered a Next Cube model no. N1000a from the cellar of my research institute. Unfortunately the mouse is missing, but the start-up process is executed properly.
The problem is that I do not know the user's name nor the password. The person who owned the computer is no longer here, so that I can not access beyond the screen asking for the user and the password.
I wonder if there is some way to skip such step or to enter my own user's name and password.
Any help will be appreciated.

You cannot bypass the password, but you can reset the root password...
