Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to install with a parallel or PCMCIA cdrom drive? It isn't mentioned anywhere so I'm guessing not, but just want to make sure.

Sorry for the waste of the topic, I went a few pages deep into this section and found my answer. Apparently a Adaptec SlimSCSI 1460D PCMCIA card should work so I can use a SCSI cdrom device.

Is there a list of PCMCIA scsi cards that should work? Thanks

I'd say almost any of the SlimSCSI cards will work. Over they years they saw a ton of support.

Alright, thanks. Well I now have a ThinkPad 365XD which should support audio and video in Rhapsody but sadly the CD-ROM is failing and has a lot of read errors on the CD-ROM when trying to boot the installer. Sadly, though, the cheapest combo I can find of a SlimSCSI card and external SCSI CD-ROM is about $60. If anyone can point me to somewhere where I can get a replacement cd-rom (P/N 82H8010, FRU P/N 82H8160) or a SlimSCSI card + CD-ROM for less, that'd be much appreciated. Thanks all.

It is not easy to find the SlimSCSI.  You can still find SCSI CD-ROM drive.  I have a couple of those.
