Hi there, just a quick Hi there, new to the group, and new to the computer. I just recently got this computer, it's a tested and working Monochrome, non turbo and non ADB Next Station with a MegaPixel monochrome monitor. It came with 8megs of ram, and a 4.1 gig hard drive (I think).
I have not turned it on yet as I am waiting for my 32meg upgrade and monochrome monitor cable. ( The unit did not come with a monitor cable.) So instead of building my own, which I could have, I decided the computer deserved a genuine next monitor cable.
Both Monitor cable and ram were perchased from Black Hole Inc. and are on their way to me. :) I wont upgrade the ram until i have had a chance to plug it all in and verify all is well. :)
Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. I live in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada. I enjoy vintage computer collecting, and I attend the VCF shows in the East and the MidWest. :)
Picture will come. ( I posted some in the facebook group, i will put them here as well.)
here is a link to my NeXT Station Flickr feed:

Hello Walter: Welcome aboard, we'll help you get her up and running. Best regards Rob Blessin
i dont have the computer in front of me, but how do I remove the sims, when my 32meg sim upgrade arrives. normally 30 pin sim is clipped in, but based on my pics, I dont see clips.... Kinda silly to ask without the machine in front of me, but how will i get the 1 meg sims out once my memory and monitor cable arrive. :)
Cheers. :)
the good news is they arrived, the bad news is MF'n canada post decided to tack on $21.00 to the order. :) When I get home tonight (had them delivered to my office) I will finally be able to fire up my Next Computer. :)
Welcome. NeXT some of the coolest computers ever made, and I still love the OS, even 30 years later!
Hello Walter: I made a video here
https://youtu.be/8yvDsBz-VBk on how I carefully remove them!
thanks for making it available. Great video :)
Cheers. :)
So I successfully repalced my ram, so now maxed out to 32 megs of ram. That video was very helpful. I was also, thanks to a few folks on the facebook group, was able to get my NeXT Station to boot and run properly from SCSI2SD interface. :) She's running like a champ. :)
Cheers.
