Okay,
I just saw a Color NeXTStation (Not a Turbo, just a regular, old Station) go for just under $500.00 on Ebay? Are there gold leads that can be melted down in the machine that I am unaware of? Or has the "NeXT magic spell" finally hit the general public 14 years after the music stopped?

Here is the listing:

I have been wondering the same thing, but apparently some of them are not that far out of line, from what others here have paid in the past.
A friend of mine who does a lot of ebay stuff remarked that it looked like opportunistic speculators. He says that some people just watch for stuff that sells for over a certain amount, and then buy everything in sight with the hopes of turning it quickly for a profit. He knows nothing about NeXT stuff, so I do not know if I believe him or not.
What has gone lately for good prices has been mostly complete working systems, ready to go. Now if we see mono slabs with 8m memory and 105m HD going for hundreds of dollars, then that would be a different story.

Damn! That's as much as I paid for my Turbo Dimension Cube with lower specs! I have 128mb, two internal 2gb hard drives, the Dimension board, all the cables, a great Frog Design mono monitor and a bright and clear N4005 21" - and a DSP memory SIMM installed.
I think the pricing of the used NeXT market is on a upswing. Too bad and too good. I could make some money but I can't afford to buy new toys.
