Hello all,
my question is following:
Why did Apple drop WebObjects or did not support it anymore although it was a good product?

I believe internally it was supported for quite awhile as iTunes was and maybe still is built on WebObjects. The problem I think is it wasn't generating any revenue for Apple. Being written in Java, you didn't need a Mac to use it.
I'd concur that. After NeXT was bought by Apple, every one of their WebObjects clients (most notably Dell) dropped WebObjects in favor of other web software.
IMO, this led to the eventual drop of Windows and Solaris, and the discontinuation of WO as a separate app.
They supported some EOF and WebObjects customers through the transition. Other technology (Netscape, ColdFusion) came along that were cheaper and more appealing. Enterprise stuff (SAP, Oracle) were better served by competitors (market dynamics at work).
