Hello NeXT Community: Are there any Forum members in the San Diego area? I've been contacted by the family of Carl Lowenstein a long time customer and NeXT user. He was also an avid vintage computer collector and his wife would like to see his collection passed on but she is to frail to open the garage door / storage area. I've looked into having a moving company do an assist but thought I would check here first as it may be a veritable treasure trove. If it turns out to be a goldmine like stacks of vintage Cubes sitting next to a Ferrari and Apple 1 obviously we will all be very happy and I would like to see her fairly compensated. This one is more about heart as well hey I'm good with whatever becomes of it and a 3 way split sounds good to me, I'll trust you... She said for sure there is a Cube (she can't open the door) but in doing research he was a well known active collector and worked with several computer museums so if you are up to an Indiana Jones adventure feel free to PM me. best regards Rob Blessin

Hello: I just saw your reply and so I had also posted on Facebook NeXT computer enthusiasts . A young fellow quickly replied from UCSD and actually picked up the equipment today :) In opening the garage they discovered her hotwater heater was leaking so that was good timing as well. It did damage a lot of the documentation so we shall see . So he is very excited to own a cube. There was a Cube with Dimension and Turbo Color lots of software and manuals . She was happy everything is being used .  For me I'll have  a replacement dimension board my dimension board has been acting wonky, as always good karma and some NeXT odds and ends. Ari is getting the deal of a lifetime lol a Free Cube and Turbo Color which is OK by me, heck it might even be a Turbo Cube , I'll help him get it up and running and post some photos.

I'm happy the younger generation is increasingly interested in NeXT and vintage hardware and Claudia said Ari is a nice respectful young man so that is good enough by me. He seems like a nice chap though it is mostly texting these days with the younger set it seems lol. There is a lot of DEC equipment as well  . If it had fell through I would have had you and one other interested party to procur it, I'll let you know if anything else comes up in the area!
