New user (and would computer history tourist here) and I'm just wondering what all is out there and available to run on NEXTSTEP or OPENSTEP these days? A fair number of the larger packages on the download site seem to be demos or trial versions which need serial keys to unlock. Other than the Lighthouse stuff, has anything else had free keys released to the community? Also, of the various open source software and freeware also on the download site, are there any real gems I need to try out? I'm genuinely curious as to what's out there and what I can actually DO with NEXTSTEP (or technically OPENSTEP) now that I've managed to get it installed.
