Title: Next station headless

Hi,

I have two next stations, one standard and one turbo, but only one monitor.

I have been using the monitor on the turbo next, the other was configured to run headless (with an adaptor to start the computer) and with serial A set as console. Also, because the GUI is useless, the next station was configured not to start the GUI. This was setup many years ago.

Now I want to reuse that 25mhz NeXT with a monitor. When I connect the monitor, the booting process stop with a login prompt in a console, as it was configured... But I can't remember what exactly I need to change in order to have the computer completes its boot up to the NexTstep login window. I just remember that it was a small change in a configuration file... but I can't find it. I have check the rc.boot and rc files but it does not seems to be any of these.

Could it be that the init program call was modified to have the -s flag ? If so where do we specify that???

Again I want to stress that this is not a NeXT with a booting problem, it was make to behave like that by me a long time ago.

Thank you for your help.

You are right! It comes back to me now. I was looking for something more complicated.

Thank you!
