I recently acquired a 030 NeXTcube and the first order of business was designing a NU_IO mount for the rear expansion bays.
I am still tweaking the design a bit to add some extra rigidity to the back plate and position of the board but it works perfectly so far.
I also designed a version that mounted a SCSI2SD v5.1 / v6 on the back plate as well but the problem is I don't have a SCSI cable long enough to reach so I pulled that out of the design.
After I get the back plate dimensions dialed in I will also release the STL for the mount and a blank plate so others can use if they ever want to make their own replacement blank plates or use it for their own designs.
Finalized the design for this, it is much more rigid than the initial design, and works great for adding a NU_IO to a NeXTcube.
The board snaps into the front of the rails with a locator nub for the front holes and then two M3 screws are used to secure the board to the rails. 3-5mm long should be fine (longer if your screws have washers on them).
The board/rail assembly is then mounted to the back plate with 3 M3 screws, 4-6mm long should be fine (longer if your screws have washers on them).
The rails should be printed so the height of the rail is vertical so no supports are required.
Here is how it looks installed, also can see a 3D printed blank.

Hell RBZ: Excellent job! Those will come in handy. best regards Rob Blessin
Very nice! I hadn't thought of doing that with my Cube.
