Hi.

Long time lurker, I'm an Amiga owner and fan (Love Motorola 680x0) from New Zealand. I'm now trying to source hardware on trademe to try and build me a openstep box. I'm currently playing with NeXT Step in Previous and need to get PC-Em set up.

I can code in 68k asm (Amiga owner after all), my C programming skills are improving (mainly use Visual C# at work) and use WinX as my main pc (trying to migrate to NetBSD). I'm hoping to get OpenStep up and running on the Rasberry PI. I'll read the FAQ about emulation before I start posting my noob questions.

I've also had a bit of trouble with GNUstep on lubuntu but I believe I will get better with GNUStep the more I play around with NeXTStep 3.3 or OpenStep.

Love watching those Steve Jobs videos on youtube too :).

Welcome pTeK :)

Maybe you already know, but if you want to get into OpenStep on Raspi, here you find armhf-AppImages of the Previous emulator:

https://github.com/kernelcoredump/previous/

https://github.com/kernelcoredump/previous/releases

I use version 2.3.0-beta.119 on a Raspi 400 with raspios-buster. Should work on any Raspbian, too.

Hello ptek: Welcome aboard

I just signed up for this

Congrats, You're Enrolled! "The 2021 Raspberry Pi & Arduino Bootcamp Bundle"   normally $995 now $25 ,
I figured what the heck. From the guys... https://stackskills.com/   , I've taken a few classes from them
before  , it is not spectacular presentation wise but this price is right for what you learn and it is self paced.

I also found out I still have access to clases I purchased years ago :)

The OOP classes section will be intersting to see if  any parallels to NeXT Dev Tools . if  I can figure this out  and have porting skills for NeXT , I may have something lol never to old to learn.

Best Regards Rob Blessin
