While I was working at Motorola I did an install of OpenStep 4.2 and Rhapsody on a Dell laptop provided to me.

Stupidly, I did not write down the make+model of that laptop- it ran both perfectly.  No crashes, no issues.  Unlike many Intel instances of NeXT software I had run on the past (Epson Progression, Canon Objectstation, etc).

Has anyone successfully run Openstep derivatives on a Y2K era Dell laptop?
If so, could you call out the model?

Thank you,
T

Not a laptop, but maybe this info can help find compatible hardware. I'm running NextStep and OpenStep on a Dell Dimension XPS T500 -- they work perfectly.

Would it be possible for you to just write to the Motorola company branch you worked for and ask them about those laptops? I am sure that they have it written somewhere. At least they should have mentions of the hardware they use. Were you the only one who worked on such a laptop or perhaps that was a company-wise assortment of computers? I think it should be possible to obtain such information.
