Hello NeXT Community: This document is proving to be very useful for me when trouble shooting ,
setting jmpers and understanding error codes and completely understanding .. old hard drives used in
NeXT hard ware and other vintage hardware from back in the day! I uploded it to our nextcomputers.org
archive . Example page 290 in the pdf or 270 in original covers the Seagate ST1480N a common factory installed drive used in NeXT hardware
Page 124 in pdf or 104 in original has an excellent section on scsi cabling a lot of very useful information tat I have never seen and only wish I had this
docuent over these past 30 years lol it is like finding the Hard Drive GURU manual lol.
As I have several thousand hard drives it will demystify a lot of them as here are the docs I've needed to set jumpers correctly !
It should also help with scsi2sd configurations an may be even disk tab entries.

My first reaction to this was "Ugh. Hard drives can't die soon enough. Don't we already have SCSI2SD?".
On second thought though we'll replace SCSI drives with flash on all our workstations and such, there will be machines that need saving for years to come. So thanks for this.
An examples - recovering a Cray 1 hard disk:
http://www.chrisfenton.com/cray-1-digital-archeology/The Cray is a particular example as it's been impossible to find software for. So what disks do turn up need to be rescued ASAP.
Thanks Rob!
