From a recently salvaged box, I managed to pull the RAM and tried it in the cube, good news, works perfectly.. Viking 64-Kit works, there is a kernel bark at start up on parity but other than that the machine is now twice as fast.. I will pull the 128 kit from my other Indigo 2 and give it a go and see if I can max it out.
Has anyone tried a 256 Kit in a cube and see if it recognizes it?
Running OpenStep in emulation on VPC 5 on a Mac, you can load more and it does see it/use it.
I seem to remember the turbo stations maxing out at 128MB even if you put bigger chips in.
Maybe there is a nvram hack to get that higher?
On another note, even on white hardware isnt the openstep max 256MB?
