well, i'm up and running with openstep 4.2 and parallels. now, i'm looking for some of the formerly commercial applications to go with. i've read in several places that many of them were released as open source, but can't seem to find them anywhere.
mainly, i'm interested in doing what i saw in the steve jobs 93 video. so if you have any thoughts on that, let me know.
as always, thx.
Look here:
ftp://next-ftp.peak.org
Under pub - next-ftp - next - apps - LighthouseDesign
The Lighthouse apps are many of the "BIG" apps you are seeking - although there are MANY other apps as well on this ftp site - as you will see!
ps. Most of the Steve Jobs video was done in NeXT mail - and maybe Word Perfect [which is not available] although Open Write is pretty similar.

thx for the tip! that should give me something to do at the office next week.
too bad about wp. it was one i was definitely interested in and one that was mentioned as being open sourced. (i only read that in one place though, so could easily be error). is wp not available at all? or just not downloadable? i thought i read it was in beta form and wondered if it was ever officially released.
i didn't see improv at peak.org either. are these apps hard to find? i considered buying the improv that was just on ebay, but didnt feel i knew enough about its value.
