I made a living for about 5 years as a NeXT system admin. I owned a NeXTcube and then a NeXTstation around that time. Now I have the nostalgia bug kicking in leading me to want to re-acquire the computers and other electronics of my past. I don't think I'll ever have the budget to get the exact NeXT hardware I had, so I'm thinking that settling for NeXTSTEP/OPENSTEP on Intel will suffice.
I have an opportunity to get an IBM ThinkPad 760EL. My research tells me that this would be a good candidate for running NeXTSTEP or OPENSTEP. Is my research correct?
Thinkpad is no longer available.
Hello: Steve Jobs used a Thinkpad 760 with Openstep 4.2 so I know NeXT wrote drivers for it in case anoother one becomes available.
