I have an old NeXTstation that I am trying to revive. Its in working order but it needs a reinstall of the OS. I don't own a CD-ROM drive that will work. I can get a USB to SCSI adapter but those are hard to find and expensive. I can get an SD2SCSI board but I know some people said their performance was better with the stock HD (slow SD card?) and my original drive is still working so its a shame to retire it. Any other ways I can do this?
Also on a side note, any members in Toronto area that can assist with this, maybe someone with a CD-ROM?
Thanks!
Hopefully someone in the Toronto area can help you - the more NeXTstations that remain alive, the better!
Otherwise, external SCSI CD-ROM drives are pretty cheap on eBay...plus get the correct cable to connect with the HD50 port, and an external SCSI terminator for the CD-ROM drive...
Whats the latest word on SCSI2SD? Which version works best v5.1 or v6?
