Hi.
I'm having trouble installing NS33CISCUserPatch3.pkg to NextStep 3.3 under Previous 2.2 (Lubuntu). This patch is from the NSOSY2K.isolisting files
After checking all the files it begins to installing and produces an error at:
Installing /NextApps/Mail.app/encode ... OK.
Installing /NextApps/Mail.app/Mail ... Ok.
Installing /private/tftpboot/mach_kernel ... OK.
**** directory checksum error (7 != 4510)
**** There were errors while installing NS33CISCUserPatch3.pkg.
... errors.
Any advice? I need to install the patch before I can install the updated Developer patches.
Thanks in advance
I did not see this kind of error so far. Maybe the image is bad. You could try running fsck. Maybe it can detect and repair the defect. I also recommend updating to the latest version of Previous.

This thread can be closed, I don't know what the original problem was but I've installed *STEP about 7 times now and have not accounted this problem again, once again it could be that maybe I hadn't logged in as
root or as
@andreas_g said it might have been a
fsck error.

Ahh had this problem again when trying to install a stock NS3.3 install on same Previous Version (I tried a more recent .appImage version but my SDL2 Lib was outdated and the one on the apt command line was the current one which was still outdated compared to the one requested by the recent Previous version...).
So after installing in the following order:
- NS3.3 User
- NS3.3 Developer (All)
- EOF 1.1 (All)
I had trouble installing the NS33 final patches.
I had problems because I didn't follow the instructions and reset the machine as mentioned in the install notes ;D
But problem solved allowed me to extract the .tar to a .pkg on the intel machine so it would be faster to install at the end.
So yeah problem solved by resetting the emulator as mentioned by the packages which says to "Reset machine after installing the package".
Would be interesting to get some install times on the previous emulator to see who can install the fastest :).
