Hello all,
I'd like to add emulation of the NeXT Color Printer to Previous. If someone has informations, especially about the communications protocol or maybe source code of some driver that would be very useful. Any information is welcome.

I know it was basically the same as an apple color printer put out around the same time. I think it was a canon oem base printer. I had one for a while, if I remember 360dpi.

I know that the Large Scale Systems Museum (https://www.mact.io/) in the Pittsburgh area has one of these printers in its collection. I don't know if they have any documentation and would suspect they don't. Looks pretty cool, though.

The NeXT colour printer is a Canon BJC-800.
The Apple and NeXT Versions did not even change the shape of the case plastics. The Canon version usually had a parallel port interface but AFAIK SCSI was an option.
I bought a Canon one from eBay a couple of years ago; it was cheap and I intended to use it for spare parts when I restore my US and International NeXT colour printers. I believe I also bought the programming manual from eBay a long time ago but I don't know if that covers the SCSI interface.

I'm still looking for the Programmer's Manual. It's not in my big box of NeXT books, so it might take me some time to locate. :-[

And a view of the ports. SCSI was definitely an option.
BTW I forgot to mention that the PSU is not auto- switching and that is why there are 2 NeXT colour printer SKUs - one for 120V and one for 240V

So, I don't know what I need to scavenge from the Canon. It's probably going to take multiple years to restore everything.
