I know you have had enough of me on the NeXT forum lol but I hope I'm doing many of you a solid. If you have purchased one my Custom Monitor Y Cables with DB19 Connector (s) and Shroud (s) , they let you hook up our beloved NeXT with sound cards to flat panels. The issue is with all DB19 plastic shrouds having an oversize flange IMHO. The flange design keeps the face of the connector from twisting loose (?) However the same flange prevents secure mating of the contact points of the pins on the DB19 M to the DB19 F video connector points on the NeXT Cube and Station motherboards and NeXT sound boxes or Cards . This solution also may resolve contact issues in Atari's, Amiga's, Apple Floppies as well or maybe the flanges just work with them . Simply sanding the flange down solves the problem and gives 100% connection not 25% and it is simple 🙂 Even I can do the mod lol all you need is a philip's screw driver to remove 2 screws and a sanding block, here is my little video showing this mission critical solution

Thanks Rob for the cables, bought one :)
As an alternative to sanding, here's something for those of us with access to a 3D-printer. I found a 3D-printable DB19 shell on Thingiverse (
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4771993) and modified it into better fitting into my NeXTstation.
I trimmed down the flange (it's still here, but doesn't extend higher than the connector-edge) and added small hooks on the sides to hold the connector straight (but still fitting inside the opening on the computer). The hooks are pretty small so if you constantly plug cables in and out they might break, I'll admit that. The version I remixed from uses longer thumb-screws than those included in the new cables. I couldn't get the case trimmed down cleanly (without breaking the rounded corners) to fit the shorter screws. The connection feels solid enough without them (and I don't usually tighten the screws on these anyway).
I made couple of attempts to include the NeXT logo on the connector (as in the original cables) but it was so tiny and didn't print out nicely so I left it out.
Here's my version:

I like it , I'm bout to take the plunge and buy a 3d printer ! I've been doing research and 2023
https://bambulab.com/en seems to have a lot of amazing features !The one made by Dremel also looks solid .
