I wonder if it wouldnt make for a good project to 3D scan all the different NeXT products to make 3D printing new and upgraded parts more easy?
Although maybe someone has access to some of the original CAD/CAM stuff, which would be even better.
But today, as cube cases get more rare, perhaps 3D printing new cases for new projects etc might make sense. A lot you can do with a Raspberry Pi in a new case.
But the same could be done with keyboards and maybe augmenting them with modern key switches and controllers.
Could make for fun new world. Just a thought.
@itomato created an excellent print of the NeXTcube 3D models in the archives.
https://github.com/itomato/NeXT-Cube-3DSTLA scanner would be nice for speeding up the reverse engineering process. Some parts may need to be redesigned to make them easier to print.
I'm in awe of the great 3D projects that people here in the forums have created. I hope to see more pictures of what people are working on.
