Hi,
I have here an ATI mach32 onboard with 2MB that creates only max
1024x756 8bit :/ 
which graphic card do you use for NS 3.3 ?

Matrox Millennium G450 Dualhead PCI

1600x1200 works only on the VGA output. DVI output works only up to 1280x1024!

I have it running with OPENSTEP 4.2 but AFAIK it works just fine with NeXTSTEP 3.3.

thanks for the Info.
I believe that Matrox have PCI/AGP Bus only ?
My AST Premmia has EISA/ISA bus with graphics onboard
it allow 1024x756 but always with color :)
