Title: Rob Blessin?
Post by: dramirez on March 17, 2023, 07:24:51 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this, so please don't be mad at me.

I bought an N4001A monitor and some other stuff from Rob. I paid him via paypal on 2/18, almost a month ago.

I know (because he told me), her mom had some health issues, and then a big storm hit. His ebay store had a mesage about being away until today (3/17), but now it shows he's away until 3/30. There are no items listed in this store (computerpowwow)

I know he has the best reputation around, but he hasn't responded my emails since 2/22, the phone at blackholeinc goes to voicemail after a few rings...

I'm not worried, but I'm worried if you know what I mean... $600 is no small amount, at least to me.

I guess I could try to contact paypal and see what my options are.

I just hate he never contacted me, or told me he was going away.

And yet I just hope he's OK and his mother too!

Sometimes life just gives you a set of domino weird things to deal with all in a row and it's super disruptive. Hopefully it's just that and Rob and you guys will get back on track. He seems to be a one man shop, so when things distract, things will pile up a little.

Hoping all is well with Rob and his mom.

I haven't heard from Rob so I don't have any information about what's going on. I hope that Rob and his Mom are OK. I'll let everyone know if I hear anything.

We have heard Rob is in the hospital currently with some severe health issues. His expected release is probably towards the end of the month at best guess.

Hello NeXT community: I am close to being back and have been in the hospital for 2 1/2 months. I'll be back home on May 20 knock on wood and I'm looking forward to getting back to life and working with the NeXT community. I'm gonna have to pace myself for obvious reasons, I've had MRSA Which many people have not survived. I'm sure glad I had insurance as a bill on this one would've been over $1 million conservatively.

It started with me snow shoveling and the pressure from the shovel as it was a heavy snow created a bursa sac in my thigh which I thought was a hernia or a separated hip . I went into the hospital the 26th of February after suffering for five days no sleep and they sent me home with painkillers and crutches, the pain continued and worsened and I did everything right and I was supposed to saw chiropractor and dr's made appointments supposed to have a two hour consult for the hernia (which didn't exist ) on March 6.

I couldn't get off the ground that morning and the phone falling in between the couch cushion covers was a nightmare to retrieve as I was so weakened from not eating, sleeping or taking meds as I thought it was surgery not a consult lol.

I started seeing apparitions of recently past relatives and friends, this has never happened to me before my mom says it is common is Scotland but not here in the states , along with like really weird island music and I knew I was really in trouble and I was not ready to go, I finally retrieved the damn phone talk about a scary experience and I'm buying a Apple I watch for just this safety reason . I called my roommate upstairs asleep , he couldn't get me off the ground because he had rotator cuff surgery. So I asked him to go get the neighbors to put me in the car so I could drive to the hospital and he said I'm not gonna do that , so I called 911 they arrived in 15 minutes and got me off the floor and gave me the option of going back to bed or going to the hospital. I'm glad I chose the hospital because I was in life threatening bad shape , puked blood for the next 36 hours which was full blown sepsis. I'm told I was within an hour of dying. It's no joke , then I had a rheumatoid arthritis flareup ballooned up, and I literally could not move. I was paralyzed from the neck down for six days , which made it impossible to find out where the source of the sepsis originated, even though I thought it was in the hip, so   They kept doing blood cultures three times a day, mris ultrasounds , X-rays , poked proded and now that the sepsis or the bacterium was in my bloodstream . it was using that as a super highway to affect all of the arthritic inflamed joints so I was in the ICU . my 60th birthday happened March 8th and the real surprise was nobody knew where the hell I was roommate dropped the ball a bit on that one. As I could not even swipe the iPhone to contact people as my hands were ballooned up . I'll include a photo to show you how bad it was just my hand.

So I finally got moved to the PCU and I started to regain a little bit of movement and they're still taking multiple blood cultures three times a day hands are pincushions at that point.  The Dr's thought it might've got into the spine from the MRI scan imagery . So I was transferred from Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins to St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, where St joes had state of the art equipment and the some of the best Dr's in the state and they all figured out finally after over a month a combination of powerful antibiotics to Daptamycin and Teflaroro, that actually were affective at stopping the crazy bacterium  and clearing Dr. Smith the infectious disease doctor at Poudre Valley Hospital worked there for 13 years.said I've never seen anything like this version of MRSA and when I was transferred to Saint Joe's there were more people working on me in the hospital than anybody else in it. At one point it was that serious, so I continue to fight through it. I was not gonna go out like this. Actually I turned 60 and am happy I made it

I'm flaring up again as we speak so , I'll edit below tomorrow ... it took a week to get back to this lol , I'm finally back home

So a heck of a way to bring in your 60th birthday March 8 and then my favorite little cat died on March 12 , Yoda , raised him from an eye dropper and he was rarely more than 6 feet from me . I'm  really sad and I'm still upset about that as well , went to CSU vet's today May 23  as they resuscitated him then put him down , I was in ICU never got the call as it woul have been good to simply see him even on face time before the decision.
Jump back a week....
I finally did well enough where I was transferred to where I'm at currently which is the Sloans lake rehabilitation center in Denver where I've finally been able to learn to walk again

And I'm able to maintain myself , I really did't know how bad it is until you've lost control of everything and I really thank the staff at all the hospitals and here at the rehab center for all they've done to get me back in action,  so I'm down to the last week of the antibiotics ; as they would have to be administered here .

I've taken advantage of the physical therapy and occupational therapy as much as I can so that I've got a good chance of getting back home and back to normal but I'm not out of the woods yet  as believe it or not this stuff can come back so will have to kee it monitored. If it does return ,  holy crap as they are gonna have to use even more powerful antibiotics and these ones run $600 a day Teflaro and dapmycin , so they are expensive and fortunately insurance is covered most of the medical bills . Thanks to  my family, friends and I thank you for the NeXT communty  support here as well.

I'm sorry I haven't been more active in the groups but I've just been focusing on trying to get my health back and it's been a tough 2 1/2 month road .
I'm finally getting back to normal and I wanted to wait to write this report , which is actually voice to text;  until I felt well enough and confident enough that I will be going home in a week. (I'm home)

As I say I'll be easing back into things anyone with existing orders when I get those shipped out ( Started shipping today 5/22 pacing myself)
I've had help from some friends and we've got a lot of the smaller orders shipped over the past month and a half and I have a few on eBay little catch up with as well (just about caught up on eBay) as always I appreciate your support , prayers, business and patience and I look forward to living many more years and continue to support this fine nNeXT community and everybody in it. Peace and best regards Rob Blessin stay well and I hope all is well with you and your family. I'll go back and edit this post to as this is just a first pass, but I wanted to put it out there so people had a clue what was going on or not all of the dark like a bunch of mushrooms lol.

I had a heart attack about 11 years ago at age 42, spend 3 days in the hospital and the bill was in excess of 100K. I would imagine 2 1/2 months would have been a lot more than a million dollars. Glad to read that you had insurance and best of luck.

Hello NeXT Community: I'm finally back home after 80 days in various hospitals , opening a stack of medical bills , yikes , I have my work cut out for me sorting it all out as what has been run through insurance already and or not. I printed out 19 shipping labels from eBay sales so I'm packing all those up ..... then onto the NeXT hardware orders , I'm still not out of the woods for MRSA and confused by the medication list currently moving forward as this crap can come back. I still am in a lot of pain as My Dr instructs not to take arthritis meds like embrel because my immunity is down . I made it through all of the antibiotics and walk again with a limp.  I have help coming to get through this so I'm pacing myself , a Dr. and Vet described what Ive been through is like getting hit by a Mac truck and I'm lucky to be alive. So a Quote from Hunter S. Thompson sums it up for me lol "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming" ; "Wow! What a Ride!"

Once upon a time, there was a man named Rob Blessin who had a passion for NeXT Computer.
He was the founder of Black Hole, Incorporated, a company that specialized in buying, selling, and repairing NeXT hardware and software.

Rob Blessin had a deep respect for Steve Jobs and his NeXT Computer Machines.

He saw the potential for these NeXT Computers to continue making an impact in the world.
So he began to build a business around these powerful NeXT Cube's and NeXT Station's.

Over the years, Rob and his team at Black Hole, Inc. acquired a vast collection of NeXT Computer Hardware and software. They became experts in diagnosing and repairing these complex machines, and they were able to provide high-quality support to NeXT users around the world. Rob's passion for NeXT extended beyond just repairing and selling these machines.

He saw the potential for the NeXT Computer Software to continue making an impact in the world, and he worked tirelessly to preserve and distribute these applications. He became a champion for the NeXT Computer Community, and his dedication to these NeXT Cubes and Stations inspired many others to take an interest in them as well.

Despite the challenges of running a business focused on a niche market, Rob Blessin remained committed to his vision.

He continued to acquire new NeXT Computer Hardware and software, and he worked to ensure that the legacy of these innovative NeXT Cubes and Stations would be preserved for future generations.

Rob Blessin's work with NeXT Computer has left a lasting impact on the computer industry, and his dedication to these machines has inspired a new generation of users and enthusiasts.

The legacy of NeXT Computer lives on, thanks to the efforts of Rob Blessin and Black Hole, Incorporated.

We hope to have a NeXT cube booting in 2088!
