In the article Keith mentions AppSoft Image. Do we have a copy of that anywhere?

It's in here (fsck.technology) (https://fsck.technology/software/NeXT/NeXTSTEP%20Applications/AppSoft%20Image%20NeXTSTEP/) and here (WinWorld). (https://winworldpc.com/product/appsoft-image/10) Both seem to be the same two 2.88MB ED floppy images, WinWorld's download has an image of the license key needed for activation. Sadly it's m68k only!
