The organizers of VCF Midwest have announced via email that the event will not be held at the Waterford venue in 2024. They have not announced the new venue yet, but you can get updates by joining their mailing list using this link...

KansasFest 2024 held July 16–21 at the University of Illinois and A2EVR held virtually July 27–28 are now open for registration. Join us for days and nights of sessions, demos, announcements, contests, and camaraderie.

Huh? Kansasfest in Illinois? Do you know if they moved because it is a blue state/red state thing? I heard a some individuals refused to go last year because of Missiouri did not support abortion or some political reasons against Missouri and the fact it was a red state or something. (I try to stay out of that stuff). Not sure what that has to do with Apple II but I do remember they forced out a board member who was Christian and not aligned with them politically, but I figured it was just some fringe people and that guy was non-confrontiational and just left. He was an M.D. that was pro-life and had said something on Twitter that they did not like. so they cancelled him. I can't recall his name. I think they removed all the videos of him from their youtube channel as well because I can't seem to find a rap video he made on Kansasfest (a little cringe , but I appreciate his enthusiasm). I had no idea they actually moved to a different state.
