Ok, installed carl, configured it, how do we set it up to run in the back ground? should this be a cron task? is this something that omniweb can fire off when needed? It doesn't appear to - handing Omni an https url doesn't work for example.
I'm probably just spoiled by modern conveniences...

I tested my setup on OPENSTEP 4.2 on Intel. I installed the Crypto Ancienne for NeXT package first, then OmniWeb. Once I configured the proxy per the PDF file it just worked in my case. I do see some mention of carl on verdraith's release page.

I'm not positive but I think the Crypto Ancienne for NeXT installer is supposed to set that up. Let me know if you still can't get it to work and maybe we can try to contact verdraith.
Finally had time to go back in Previous and try it again.
The problem was that I did not realize that I needed to have both the http & https configurations in omniweb set up. I misread the pdf the first time around, so purely on me.

I'm glad that you were able to get thinks working. 8)
I flipped the HTTPS only switch on the forums and site today. OmniWeb on OPENSTEP was able to redirect automatically during testing. This should fix some of the log in/log out issues that people have reported. Please let me know if you run into any problems. Thanks everyone.
