Is there anyway to get the last version of omniweb that runs on openstep to run on NS3.3? I haven't been able to get a copy of openstep 4.2 for my NeXT yet...
Also, what all does the newest omniweb offer over whatever version I'm currently using? I haven't looked at omniweb in awhile. I dont remember what all the limitations are :)

In the process of getting my Cube as current as possible. I purchased a 4 GB disk from Rob @ BlackHole, Inc. If came loaded with OpenStep v4.2. There was no web browser. I searched OmniWeb's web site, and located the newest version which is v5.5. I emailed Customer Support, and they said that it would not work with a Cube. The only version they had in thier archives that would work with the NeXT is version 2.5. In one of my recent posts,
brams listed the full process of locating and downloading OnimniWeb v2.5. I followed directions, downloaded, and it works. Hope this helps.

The latest version for NS 3.3 should be 2.7b3 and 3.0b9 for OS4.2 (both can be found for black hardware on ftp.blackcube.org).

Guys, the latest version of OmniWeb for OPENSTEP 4.2 is version
3.1rc2a (ftp://ftp.omnigroup.com/pub/software/Archive/OPENSTEP/OmniWeb-3.1rc2a-OSM-NIS.gnutar.gz), with the last full release being
3.0 (ftp://ftp.omnigroup.com/pub/software/Archive/OPENSTEP/OmniWeb-3.0-OSM-NIS.gnutar.gz). Both of these require the latest
OmniFrameworks (ftp://ftp.omnigroup.com/pub/software/Archive/OPENSTEP/OmniFrameworks-1998G2-OSM-NIS.pkg.tar.gz). You can find the plugins for OmniWeb 3.x for OPENSTEP

All the NEXTSTEP versions of OmniWeb can be found

As you found out, asking customer support about products from 6 or more years ago is going to provide mixed results.
Think about it... what are the odds that anyone you talked to was working at the Omni Group back in the NeXT days? Or that they have any experience with NeXT hardware or software at all?
If someone told you that OmniWeb 2.x was the newest version you could run on an OPENSTEP 4.2 system, they didn't know what they were talking about.
