If you search the internet, you can still find some NeXT software. In most cases, the software is provided as disk images for creating floppy disks. On a newly created floppy disk, there is a pkg file, that the Installer of NeXTstep can install.
Is there a way to install the software without creating floppy disks? Sometimes I get errors, when writing the disk image to the floppy disk, sometimes this seems to work but then the Installer says there are errors reading the pkg file. It is rather tedious creating install disks.
Just an idea: Is it possible to mount a disk image an then read the content?
The previous emulator sources also contain a tool called "ditool" (disk image tool). I never tried to use it on floppy images, but it might be worth a try...

Thanks for your tip!
With the ditool it is easy to copy the content of a floppy disk image.
