Hello NeXT Community: This is my First Effort to Rerecord an original NeXT Video as I have a bunch of them that I have wanted to do this for a very long time.
One small flaw I found if you get an Iphone ringing with in 3 feet it is to close and it interferes for a few seconds lol.
I'm reinvesting some of my profit back into Black Hole and the NeXT Community for your enjoyment to show appreciation for your support.
This is my first effort with these new tools and I'll make a video detailing and explaining what I'm doing.
Please note vintage tech ,
the tapes are 30 years old
and the JVC Super VHR ET Recorder is 25 Years old, it is a nice one.
I picked up the VCR at the local ARC thrift Store for $10
I'm going to buy a head cleaner and use better quality RCA / S Video cables but for my first go at it, I think it is good !
Shout out to Jason for the help and pointers, We are having fun doing some cool NeXT Stuff stayed Tuned !
This tape was actually given to me by Rich Page VP of hardware Engineering at NeXT awhile back with his NeXT Cube and lots of other goodies.
Any further tips you all may have please let me know as I enjoy learning.
Now here is Steve !
Best regards Rob Blessin
Please note this was original 640 by 480 Resolution on a 1st generation NeXT produced 33 year old VCR tape.
Yes I'm tinkering with different resolutions an quality . I'm thinking cleaning the heads and better RCA cables will help improve image quality.
I'm using a Mac Mini M2 Pro with Quicktime and screen record
a Digitnow Video Capture interface JVC VCR , it is a nice one 1080P,
a Satechi Mac Mini Hub
with a 2 Terra-byte Crucial Gen 4 NVME to record to then uploading to YouTube ,
I'll improve in the future using Apple Keynote App and
I'm planing on using original NeXT hardware along side the videos for fun to match the originals at some point in future videos.
I'm only one guy here but this is really cool stuff and having you all help out makes it an epic endeavor .
