Here is an auction for a huge load of NeXT stuff. It includes 2 cubes, a slab, monitors, and a bunch of software and manuals. Would make a great christmas present for some lucky NeXT fan out there.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120063223040Ought to be fun to watch this one go. The shipping will be enormous for all this stuff, as he quotes ~$400 or so for it.

Can anybody with ebay acount give me his email address?
I still haven't made a master card account on my bank, so I can not register on ebay (they want numbers uh)
cause, I am interested in NexStep 3.3 CD and install floppy :(
Yup saw that one too. Pergamon-you out there???

I'm out here -- whassup?
Seller said he will not split up the items, except that he will not ship the monitors if the winner does not want them.
Chef
jeez, thats a lot of stuff. i hope whoever wins it, takes care of it ;)

fortunatly, for me :-), only a few bits and pieces i would like to have :-). Damn, why is not in germany such a big beast for auction?
hehe, I wish it was being sold next door to me... I could afford it then ;) the shipping would kill me :(
I see a road trip to the southwest in my future ;)
Or better yet, I wonder when my sis is heading back from San Diego for christmas? I am sure she would not mind stuffing the cubes and the two big monitors in her car ... Not :(
Chef
Well, I wonder if the 'graphics company' did the weirdo '2 cube motherboards in one case' trick. If so, I wonder why?
I do note that these are both 68030 motherboards - no 10B-T connector on the rear...
Maybe a nextcomputers.org person can get a hold of this stuff and share the wealth with the rest of the group, since the eBay seller doesn't want to split it up (given the amount, I can see why, though his excuse about 'preliminary hardware' is almost certainly spurious). I, myself, don't have any huge desire for any of the it - unless maybe OpenStep 4.x works on a SPARC processor.
Cheers,

It sure does, at least 4.2 did for me on both a SS5 and SS20. Those were my "first" NS systems, before I assembled enough hardware for a complete ColorSlab system
Chef
It was in my price range...
....Then I bought a color slab
Just watch the price soar in the next few days.
This makes me want to cry. So much of the stuff I've been wanting to get. The current bid price is in my range.. but theres no way I can pay for shipping at all :(

In german auctions the current bid have nothing to say since almost all bidders set the bid in the last few seconds. I have seen a lot of stuff staying for a few bucks and in the last seconds raised to a unpaiable amount.
(like the 0.8 OD set, wich i wished to get :-))
oh I know. I never bid until the last 60 seconds. I've had stuff I was going to bid on jump from 80usd to over 3000 in the last 240 seconds of auction. Kinda sucked.. :P

Snipe .. Snipe .. Snipe.
It can really suck, but its the only way to play and win on ebay now.

Quote from: "ixo"It a bit strange. One cube has two motherboard, the other has none !
but for the end-price you can only win :-)

For better or worse, I won the auction. There are a few things I'll definitely keep, but a good chunk of it I'll want to sell off. Let me know (via PM) if there's something in particular you want. I won't know for sure which things I want to keep until it all arrives and I've had a chance to go through it all, though.
ooo! ooo! I know i want some of it. I'll have to read through the auction. I'm glad someone here won it :)
Glad you won it, pergamon. Seems like we've bid together in the past too. Once you've had a chance to sort thru it, please post those things that are dupes for you. :)
Thanks!
I allready sand you a PM... I really like to have that NS 3.3 CD and install floppy disks :P
so what is happening ... pergamon ? :( I am still waiting for replay

All who PM'd: I've gone through most of it now, and I'll probably start offering things for sale in a week or so. There turned out to be more that I wanted to keep than I had anticipated, which is both good and bad ;)
I had many requests for the NS3.3 media, so that'll probably go up on eBay, though if you want to make an offer via PM on here before I do I might take that instead. They're the standard Y2K NS upgrade packs. I'll be selling one, maybe both of them.
I think I put the NeXT Bible in the 'to sell' pile.
I won't be selling the cubes from that lot at this point, but they'll replace two others in my cube collection which I'll be selling soon.
I'll post a full list of things from that lot I'm going to sell when I get to it (probably this weekend or next week).
