I have the original NeXT db 19 to db 19 shorter 18" Cables it will work with your NeXT Cubes $59.95  The originals were 6 footers , if I sell one then I am with out for a complete Cube system so the price is $199.95 also have my combo cables which use a flat panel for $69.95 , you can run it through your sony for the sound card component where display is on the flat panel , great way to surrogate for dim NeXT monitor with out having to pull the sound card.  Also have a Mac floppy cable 5 footer which interestingly does work for the NeXT display for $59.95 the cavaet is it only displays balck and white as you need a 50 ohm resister to get grey tones.  If you would like to DIY a display cable , I sell DB 19 connectors $10.95 add a shroud for $4. and we have specs on the pinouts.

Hey, Rob!

Thanks for the reply. I'm curious about how well the 18" cable works with the cube. Is it too constricting and/or put excess strain on the connectors at a hard right angle? I don't mind the monitor and Cube quite close side by side on a desk. I assume these are mostly for the early mono slabs or intended for Cube use as well?

I do have your mono to VGA cable from eBay. Works nicely and I need to order one of your color ones as well soon.

I made my own mono cable, but ghosting is quite bad and I'm unsure if it's my cable, monitor or both. Video here:

While I have you: do you do Cube case restoration as a service and/or provide paint formula guidance if I were to pass details to an auto body shop or similar capable paint shop?

Thanks!

The short cable works fine, but it's pretty tight. The monitor needs to be right beside the Cube.

Hello Half Press : Great I'll take a look and send a paypal invoice,  if you made a cable I think it may need a 50 ohm resistor to bring in the greys as without it it is pure black and white.
There are some adjustments under the back cover , I made a video awhile back https://youtu.be/jiH5jLjcqSY?si=Ri7SM1F0fKJjhFjv

I had a roommate that would paint them for me but he has since moved on THeir was a formula if your search cube paint I think it is listed in a thread Sherwin Williams had to custo,m mix it and it was $125 a gallon.  I've seen both good and bad results powder coating but it depends on the skill set of the painter and equipment. As well as prepping here are 3 he did , https://youtu.be/ChqGSUwOp54?si=D04YSoeV5AzdykGf I would venture to guess he would probably do it for $500 and source the paint, his dad just passed so his is in Nebraska at the wake.  I'll ask him but I know he is busy as he is the foreman for 6 crews and drives sometime hundreds of miles a day to make sure the job sites are going well and does the touch ups. Powder coating should be a lot less but I don't know everything seems expensive to me these days.
