Hello NeXT Community: It has been an enjoyable resource for NeXT News, projects and people for nearly 20 years for me. I've had a bit of a break here and apologies for not being more proactive in may be helping to mitigate or offer perspective leading a solution.
I know this to will pass , no need to burn down the NeXT forums as sometime it is OK to agree to disagree on some subjects. I've seen this way to often in the modern fast moving internet and often keyboard warriors take out really good and important people for hidden motives and agendas.
Our NeXT forum is a small niche in the vast depth of the internet , when I started what is no called blogging on the internet bbs in 83 , heck it was compuserve and $6 a minute at a whopping 300 baud. NeXT was a revelation, blogging in thew wilderness of the new WWW in 94 priceless, was still writing on my page 1 webpage 4 years later lol no one new how big a web page could actually be at the time lo and itthe blog is still going 30 years later , prime example right here.
Nothing worse than a small stone in your comfortable shoe. Then you walk through a patch of those dang stickers, they attach to your socks and worse yet wind up in a patch of poison ivy , yep true story Marrianna Buttes looking for an errant golf ball.
Mark Twain was right some days golf is like a good walk spoiled , all the while your buddies are laughing at or with you because they are in the short grass or in a similar predicament across the fairway deep in the gunch, tall grass.
On this particular day , I found my ball and began practice hacking tearing up a patch of buttercups with my trusty wedge.
When SHAZAM up pops mother nature and oh boy is she pissed.
She says Mr. Blessin what in the world are you doing to my buttercups. I responded out of the way lady, I need to hit this shot , buttercups fly.
Now you have done it, Mother nature proclaims and all right mister that is it for you , no butter for a year.
I fall to the ground in hysterics laughing ,
Mother nature now beet red and angry; as a nest of hornets , WHAT IS SO FUNNY Mr. Blessin? I simply point to my buddy across the fairway deep in the gunch down by the pond, hacking it up in the pussy willows .
The moral of the story yes there a way to just find a common ground here for all of us in good days and bad and sometimes it is ok to take a step back and take a mulligan . Courtesy to the groups behind you , wondering what in the heck is going on up in front of us on this hole.
Breath , the stones in the shoe, poison ivy and stickers in the socks threads here were cumulative over a year in the making.
Some honestly really good shots but some really bad ones illegal with warning.
How many thread mulligans are needed to set things straight.
Golf holy crap ,golf sticklers for the rules, indeed and every now and then you hit a shot of shot where space time the universe fades away, your ball fly's straight pure and true and is in the hole. I love the memory of that shot during a mens league tournament , these guys my good friends Garrett and Eric out driving me and everyone by 80 yards consistently 20+ years younger, that day my 2nd shot on a par 5 from 225 yards out found the hole for a double Eagle , 1 in 6 million odds shot , rarest in golf. So good in fact I was on the front page of the Coloradoan Sports section , the next day was the city tournament , lol I crumbled on 18 , it was like the universe , nuked me with a 15 , a 15 , I counted them , it involved a lake , a sprinkler system and perhaps aliens . I played the next 2 days OK, they loved me for it a lot of ribbing indeed , but that is golf for ya only as good as your next shot.
So Lets get over the bad stuff and remember the good stuff and I hope the NeXT shot you hit or thread you make comes from the heart and finds the hole.
A common bond in this forum, the heart of it is NeXT technology and we mostly love it.
Steve Jobs made it all possible for us and his team and I am very lucky this was my destiny , indeed a great choice for a career path for me.
Cheer the heck up NeXTies , live a little and by all means please don't give up on this NeXT forum , as it is my comfortable pair of shoes perhaps yours? A fun space on thevast internet of God knows what is coming NeXT.
It is ok to have differences of opinion in my humble opinion but what it becomes personal attacks , I've read them, hey I know I'm old and slow sometimes why make fun of it, by it I mean experience.
I believe it was managed appropriately, though you can't please all the people all the time , I get it after perusing through the information , it was easy to see the plot thicken and personalities played to cause turmoil IMHO.
I don't need to point at any body , I want to point at everybody and welcome you to NeXTcomputers.org 2.0,
may be we just bend the rules a bit and take a mulligan and move on or on some days when it really counts , play be the rules a 2 stroke penalty, unplayable lie, lost ball and no butter for a year lol unless you have a worse predicament involving an already angry mother nature in another thread.
The things that went on here at nextcomputers.org were they truly helpful in the long run , 19 years of peace, then turbulence seem to be a strategic attack on a small forum from an individual, granted they hit a lot of great shots, but took to many Mulligans , cheating to get ahead perhaps, judgement call. Opinions will vary that is what elevates a good forum to a great one look at the complete picture here a lof of good stuff over many many many years lets keep it going this is a speed bump in time.
My comfortable shoes and I stepped in bear dookie one time not a good thing in te wilds of Alaska but that is another story. Yep Bears sometimes really do crap in the woods lol.
