Okay, now hat I know it's going to be a while before I see another NeXT system (the color station deal fell through in the last days of the deal  ) I am thinking that I should try a white box and start from there.
Problem:
I don't know what to do.
I was thinking of using a spare Pentium pro ATX motherboard and fitting onto that one of my sound blaster 16 cards, a compatible video card (i should have one) and 128 mb ram among other things.
For NS and OS, I'm stumped.
I assume that I have to buy the intel-compatible copy, right?
"Openstep 4.2 for Mach" is for Intel and Motorola.
I wouldn't bother with NeXTSTEP on Intel hardware - there's no good reason.
okay, so we use OS 4.2
So am I still assuming that my configuration is good and I need to buy OS 4.2?
Well?
is OS 4.2 downloadable or do I need to buy it?
I have a system sitting here with a blank 2 gig drive.
EDIT:
Silly me, I forgot that OS is still illegal to duplicate.
I'll have to buy it.
