or a good b/w CRT thats not fuzzing or bowing or what not?
My Turbo Slabs CRT is starting to bow pretty badly :(
I want to get a turbo color so I can hook it to an LCD. But if anyone in the USA has a good B/W CRT... I'll go for that for a bit :)
Thanks...
I have a complete setup for a NeXTstation Turbo Mono system. The NeXTstation has 16MB RAM but can be upgraded up to 128MB (using 32MB 70-pin SIMMs). The hard drive capacity is not that big, but you can replace it using most SCSI hard drives.
Included in the setup is a NeXT megapixel monitor N4000A, as well as the classic keyboard and mouse.
The system comes installed with OPENSTEP 4.2 -- the latest version of NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP -- and a DHCP client package downloaded from the net (sorry, but could not find any CDs or diskettes with it). It is ready to plug in to your home router and immediately connect to the internet. You can then telnet to it from other machines or telnet from it to other machines in your home network. I believe there are some old web browsers that can be downloaded off the net to run on top of it.
You will need a 50-pin SCSI terminator or connect an external SCSI CDROM or SCSI disk to the NeXTstation SCSI port (I could not figure out how to set the hard disk to auto-terminate the SCSI chain).
Shipping costs will be 58 lbs from US zip 97229.
Make an offer. If there's no interest, then it's off to eBay.
I actually have a complete mono turbo slab with 128mb of ram and an external cd drive :) I just want a color system so I can hook up an LCD.. and well, have color :P
That dhcp package sounds interesting. I've never seen a dhcp package for NS... know where you got it?
a slab w/ an lcd would be cool :)
Quotea slab w/ an lcd would be cool
Better yet, get a black cased LCD panel and slap a NeXT logo on it.
Even better, if you got the cash, gut the dud monitor and fit a new lcd
inside the CRT case to keep that NeXT feel?
