I'm a brand spanking new OPENSTEP user, I just got a SparcStation 20 with install media so I'm about to get this up and running.
I got interested in the whle Next/OpenStep-thing after trying out Mac OS X but I mainly run Linux (Ubuntu) at home and (sadly) Windows at work (although I'm trying to phase it out in favor of Ubuntu).
I generally have a tendency to run all operating systems I can get my hands on so when OPENSTEP fell into my lap I was delighted.
In the interest of full disclosure I work for IBM in Sweden but I am not a spokesperson for the company.
Welcome to the board! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
You will LOVE openstep/nextstep. Awesome OSes :)
Welcome!
I'm certain you'll enjoy the familiarity you'll be noticing due to your Mac OS X experience. It's always fun to be in the situation: "Wow, this is works same as in OS X!" ("my time was well spent learning XYZ thing"...) Of course, there will be many things that aren't quite the same... but it's for the best :)
