Hi,
I have a '040 Cube (upgrade from '030 in 1990).
Originally purchased through San jose State University (upgrade also).
I have a printer but the latch is busted. Still prints as long as you put something on it to keep is closed.
I have a spare OD drive and the one in the cube still functions.
It has a floppy stung to the outside of the cube.
I also have tons of original manuals.
I have quite a bit of the original software installed.
I'm really not interested in eBaying it but I will. Looking for someone to do local pickup because I don't want to try to pack and ship since I don't have boxes.
Make me a reasonable offer. Pics availab le in a day or so.

would be interested if u shipped it
The issue is how do I ship it?
I don't have the riginal boxes. At least I don't think I do.
I have to check my other house.

Sent you a PM back.
They usually charge an outrageous fee.
I've been there and done that.
I looked and can't find the boxes.

I just received a NeXT 21" MP monitor box that is huge. I can leave the packing materials in it for you and ship it out for the cost of shipping only. i haven't looked it up. The box (with packing) probably weighs 15 to 20 pounds. I'd keep it but it's huge. It will hold a cube, accessories, and packing very well. Probably even some extras. It's that big.
Just a thought...

I no longer have the 21" NeXT monitor box. It arrived damaged due to UPS being a bunch of cavemen. Luckily it was insured and UPS is picking it up today. UPS is going to refund 250 bucks! On one hand it's sad to lose black hardware...but on the other hand my dimension system just cost a whole hell of a lot less. Anyway, I took pics of the damage and swiped the NeXT logo, put it back in it's original box, then dragged the whole thing to my porch.
It was very sad and I was late for work.
But now I can afford a black LCD replacement!!!

UPS strikes again ... At least it was insured, and the LCD will take up so much less desk space than the CRT.
UPS =
U Pack it we
Smash it
Chef
gah, that sucks man :(
I HATE UPS, FedEx, DHL etc. I will *only* ship via the USPS. I've yet to have them break anything or lose anything. I'd have problems will all 3 of the other guys.
Good thing is was insured :)
And LCDs are nicer anyways... but still... :P
I like USPS. But Fedex is pretty deluxe too. I"m just bent on UPS they are 2 damaged shipments in 2 months. boo on me...

I generally do USPS, but I had an international shipment go awry... and the insurance I paid for was useless:
They wanted me to have the foreign post office sign off that the item was delievered in damaged condition and the recipient HAD to sign that off. Well how in the world could he sign off that it's damaged when the box looked fine, and he couldn't verify operation until he unpacked and turned it on??? The inards had failed because it was subjected to too many Gs. But of course not even Houdini can know that before he sets up the machine... Goddamn laptop's screen never worked again, yet there wasn't a scratch on it. Hard drive was also dead too. Go figure... Oh, and their claim is: you have to pack it in the original box. Well, gee-wee, aren't boxes boxes? And isn't packing packing? And what if it's a vintage machine and the boxes don't exist any more? You can't ship it?? WTFF?

Sometimes an offering to the gods helps. Do you have any goats?

Beh Beh Beh...
Come to think of it, the recipient could have actually gotten some goats at the time!!! :D
I'll give you my kidney for the cube.

Heh, who me? I wouldn't know what to do with it! Can I use it as a bio-computer? Will it do n-ary computations? Hehe :) Also a small detail: I've only got one - my precious - and it ain't leaving any time soon...
