Well guys, Finally I got one Cube in a very good conditions, a 040 33MHZ with a NeXT Dimension Board, and I open the boxes only week ago.....
All started when I was mmm... too young back in 1987 or 88, that I saw in a magazine the description of the NeXT cube, at that time I was at school, and I always, wanted a Cube, but in my country of origin, was far too expensive to afford one (so dad, bought me an Atari 130XE).

some years after, went to university, did my MBsc in computers, but still wanted a Cube, then Work, then got married, then start a new job abroad in UK, then return to my home country,
Then installed OpenStep on one laptop, but still wanted a Cube ....

then I start to do a Cube replica in aluminium, so close to finish the replica, but then and finally back again to UK. (the project stop) :idea:
then some weeks ago, a member of the forum offer me a Cube and I saw the opportunity, and now I have it.

It come with 32 MB Ram, 450 HD, and MagaPixel, and its coming the Colour display (CRT)
I'm so happy and I've been invested to upgrade it, now I have 9GB HD working, a DVD Pioneer is coming, 128MB is coming too.
I installed a IBM Black LCD Screen (it works!) very nice, now I need some good SW.
Well after almost 19 years a dream come true, I will give it a very good home, now my wife is happy and she likes a lot the Cube too.
well I'm so happy, that I decided to share a bit of my NeXT Live :wink:

Yes congrats. The extra RAM helps speed things up noticeably. And the wife doesn't mind? Now you're really a lucky man!

My wife is quite fond of my hobby, too. She likes machines with different designs (in fact she is looking for a TAM from time to time since she saw mine ;-)).
Just two questions: a Pioneer DVD? Which model ist it? The same about the IBM LCD: which model ist it? My NeXTdisplay sooner or later will quit its job...

That is awesome work on that cube .. very nice job. So I guess from the cutouts it was setup for an ATX type motherboard and power supply to be installed. Is it the same dimensions as the actual NeXT cube, or was it enlarged a bit for more space. Any more info available on how it was constructed, especially the "ribs/fins" around the middle. Does it have an internal skeleton or structure with the skins attached, or are the panels strong enough when locked together.

Agreed, very nice work. In the mid- or late-90's, a company designed a machine that looked very much like what you did:
http://www.rockcity.net/. They're long gone and even archive.org has nothing that I can find. But they supported their cube on a corner so it actually kind of looked like the NeXT logo. Some old timers should remember it....
