I am looking to port some X windows applications to the NeXT. Which OS should I choose, NS3.3, OS4.2, etc?

Feedback, ideas, and suggestions welcome.

I'd suggest targeting NS 3.3, because apps built for NS 3.3 will usually also run on OS 4.2. On the flipside, targeting the OpenStep API gives a greater probability that the ported app will work with GNUStep, or under Mac OS X. This would come at  the cost of *not* working with NeXTSTEP 3.3, however - unless you make it a compile-time option. Because OS 4.2 supports NeXT, Intel and SPARC, this covers most bases, but explicitly leaves out HP.

NS3.3!!! Please! :P I haven't upgraded my NeXT yet because I don't have the money, and I like NS3.3 enough as it is. :P
