Every forum needs a geeky screenshot thread!:-)

Nothing too fancy, just a shot of my OPENSTEP system as it currently looks.

wow!!
Could you please share the wallpaper
Its fantastic!!!!
Oh, sure... I found it here (
http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/userg/images/1129457857.shtml). I then sized it down and converted it to a tiff.
It is by the same guy that did some of the other backgrounds I use... like this one from about a year ago.
Well, we haven't had a screenshot in a while... so I did a quick grab of my desktop while I was working on updating a page on my site.
Nothing special... just needed a break. :D

From my powerbook. Note the NeXT logo replacing the finder icon.
rice0067, If you have shapeshifter, you can use the NeXT Icon set which I knocked together
http://www.geeklan.co.uk/files/NeXT_Theme.tar.gzCombined the the eXec theme, you end up with this:
Hi;
Those Icons are pretty nice.. but I think you have the dock on the wrong side... :D

woah, where did you get that "TheShelf" program? I've been wanting something like that for my NeXT for ages. Will it run on a Turbo mono with NS3.3? (I'll upgrade eventually :P)
I'll post a screenshot of my NeXT tomorrow.
Thanks for the links
I really need to upgrade to OS4.2
Heres my glorious Mono NeXT Turbo :)
hmm.. just noticed my system clock is horribly off. Need to fix that..
Brian was kind enought to sell me a SafetyNet license last year. Works great!
SafetyNet in action (using a Sony DAT drive):
So I realized that someone had once asked if it was annoying to have the menus on one display while working with multiple displays (it was in a Mac forum). Of course in Mac OS 8/9/X it does have it's draw backs in that way... but not in Rhapsody.
I thought I'd take a couple screenshots of my system while I was building a page for my site today to illustrate.
First shot, Create is in the foreground with TextEdit in the background (both HTMLEdit and OmniWeb are hidden as I wasn't working with them at this point).

In this second shot I have TextEdit in front being used on the second display... with the main menus torn-off so that they are near the documents.

I do wish that Apple would put this feature back into Mac OS X.
Thats very cool. There used to be a hack for OSX that reenabled tear off menus.. But I don't think it works in the latest releases. which is a shame.
Here is the first screenshot of my SPARCstation 10... I was finally able to take a little time to sit down and get it (partially) setup. So far I like it, it seems faster than my ThinkPad at running OPENSTEP 4.2.
The shot is grayscale as I only have a grayscale display for my Suns... which is actually fine for me. It reminds me of back when I first started using NEXTSTEP. :D

I made those NeXT icons for OS X..

Ok, I got it -- .tiff files don't work.
Here's a screenshot from one of my machines...
Well, I don't change my desktop images much, but here is how my OPENSTEP systems currently look...
