Please HELP! STOLEN[???] - NeXT Turbo Dimension Cube!

I very much need your help to try and locate the person who  advertised on this bulletin board a few months ago [the old one]. He  claimed to be selling many NeXT Cubes and NeXTSTATIONS because he was  tired of selling them on eBay,

I made arrangements with him to buy a Turbo Dimension Cube [over  $1000.00 US]. I sent payment to him via PayPal, and he was to ship  the item from Southern California [USA] via USPS "Surface Parcel  Post" to Japan. This was nearly 12 weeks ago - and I have not  received it. Not only that - my emails to him have gone unanswered  for all this time! There is no way to trace this person through the  PayPal system - and his address listed with PayPal is a storage  locker, and they will not disclose any information regarding their  clients.

The person that I wish to contact is named Charles Cox. He has also  sold many NeXT items on eBay as "michames".

I would be very thankful to any one who can provide me any  information which will help to put me in contact with him.
If you have [private] information - you can also PM to me.

Thank you all for reading!

I have purchased from him several times both off and on ebay.  Never a single hint of a problem.  Does not sound like Charlie at all.

This happened to me on a much smaller scale a couple of years ago.  No item, no email, no answer at the phone number from ebay, no help from Paypal.  Finally almost a year later, I get a refund from the guy's widow.  He had died! She was finally getting around to settling all of his outstanding stuff.  I felt really bad about the scathing bad feedback I had left him.

I have also purchased a lot of NeXT stuff from him. I have to note that shipping to germany needs about 8-9 weeks, don't know how long to japan.

I too, have bought items from Charles [through eBay] without any problems.

But that is not really the issue in Atsushi's situation. He is simply asking the NeXT community for help in his attempt to contact him - as his email attempts have gone unanswered. In this case - ONLY the seller [Charles] has the information necessary to provide the USPS with a clue - as to try and find the package. At this point - whether or not Charles actually shipped this equipment is not particularly in question.

Shipping from the USA to Japan via USPS Surface Parcel Post is 4 to six weeks. Actually, from the US to Japan is possibly the fastest international route [from the US] via USPS.

The other [equally, or more] important issue - is that Atsushi's emails to Charles have not been answered for months!

I understand that. I have emailed Charles and also Theresa about this issue and hope that they will do the next step.

That is true also.  I'm not defending Charles and in Atsushi's defence, that is a lot of cash to lose on an internet transaction.  I was just stating that all my purchases were handled properly.  Knowing my history with him and his almost spotless feedback on ebay, it's my concern that he might be sick or otherwise in distress to have an issue like this come up.  I only hope for a satisfactory conclusion for both parties.

OK - I guess that I can assume that nobody was able to contact Charles Cox by now -

I have tried too - without success.

I am going to try to help Atsushi in this matter. He lives in Japan, and he speaks [and writes] in "limited" english language. I live in the US [San Francisco] and Charles [lives?] in the Los Angeles area - so it is necessary & logical for me to try and help him cut through the bullshit in the persuit of finding information about his "missing" Cube.

I really don't have any experience or even a clue - as to how to proceed in this - but my first step will be to contact the police department in the Compton California area.

This isn't about whether or not Charles Cox is [or was] an honorable person. It is about helping a friend locate [or recover] his [expensive] investment.

If any one has any information - telephone #'s, - street addresses - other email addresses - for Charles Cox - please PM Atushi.

Thank you - all - for your help!

I went through some old e-mails and came up with one e-mail address for Theresa and two for Charles.  I sent that information to Atsushi.  If I remember correctly, Charles posted in the old forums as toxcom.  We have a new member here with the same user name that joined on January 18th.  I sent a pm to him that points to this thread.  Hope this gets resolved.

Hello Atsushi: If you are still there, did anyone ever contact you. I just heard from a family member that confirmed he did pass on but it has been 9 years since this post so I am a little cautious .   They are going to send me photos of the equipment and I'll be out in their area in a few weeks on vacation.  I think after reading the posts I'll purchase the equipment on site whilst looking at it rather than in advance. If I see a Cube matching your description out of good faith I'm sure we can work it out where if you covered shipping I would send it to you. All this is speculative at this point but I'll try and help. Best regards Rob Blessin
