I have managed to find a NeXTstation color! Well I don't have it physically yet but I'm getting it. To put it midly, I'm estatic! However I am only getting the machine itself. It has NS 3.3 preinstalled. I beleive it has the power cord too. I want to have sound, a color monitor, an external CD drive, a printer, a wacom tablet, and a scanner. That is if I can those things. I know some of them are kinda rare. Now does anyone know where I could get those things. I would rather have as much official NeXT branded stuff as possible. I know the Wacom tablet, CD drive, and scanner won't be. So yeah that's all
P.S. I AM SO EXCITED!! This definately beats White Virtualization!
Also does anyone know if those Apple PowerCD Units are hard to find? If they are do they work with Black Hardware?
Thanks
Kevin
No need to look for an Apple branded external drive! Apple only made about 4 different versions and three of them can be used with NeXT-hardware. Those ones were build into external housings and PowerMacintoshes. The only difference is a) their speed and b) their naming. You will mostlikely pull one of these versions off a PowerMac:
150i , 300i, 600i ("i" is for internal and lacks the Apple logo)
150e, 300e, 600e ("e" is for external, bears the logo and is bild into a external housing).
The younger the PowerMac the higher its version number. 600i drives (I think about 24x speed or such) were build into 8500 or 9600 PPCs, for example.
You will juts have to get yourself an external case and mount the drive into it. Those special "PowerCD" drives also work together with NeXT-hardware and are looking quite cool, but the are single speed - which is not much fun. They arenot as hard to find as NeXT machines but they are quite rare by now.

Well thanks for the help! I just wanna get a PowerCD for a CD player and maybe hook it up to it to play cds through my soundbox. Are there any DVD drives that are SCSI that work with NeXT that are decent (I obviously mean what Apple calls a combo-drive DVD/CD-RW. NeXT can't wrtite to DVDs, right?) Also is there any sort of sleek looking casing to put this drive in? Its not the prettiest thing!
I use a 600e. works perfectly
does it have a DVD reader?

Yes there are, although I feel they are just as rare as NeXT hardware sometimes :)
