Hi There!
I know this is going to sound CHEAP but I can either buy something on ebay or grab parts left and right ( probably more expensive and difficult ), which begs to ask the following questions:
Is $100 too much for a 25mhz Slab? ( Color / Monochrome, no turbo )
and where can I find parts, such as a Monitor, Mouse, etc.
Thanks!
Yvo
If it's just the machine, with like no extras, yeah thats WAY to much. most "units", by themselves, (from what I've seen, anyways), go for about 50 bucks, max. I'd pay ~100 for a non turbo color/black&what that has keyboard/mouse/soundbox/Y cable and no crt.
You can use a normal LCD on a color NeXT with the use of a 13w3 to vga adapter. You can do the same on a Mono, but it is a bit more complicated.
Several people here seem to be oozing parts at the moment, so you could just ask in the market place for the pieces you need. heck, even I have a few spare parts I might part with ;)
oh, buying pieces to get a working machine may actually be cheaper, believe it or not. get a slab for 20 bucks, keyboard/mouse for 10, soundbox for 15-20... :) I'd shoot for a complete, or as complete as possible system though.
